(E) Introduction to Servicing the Disklavier - Bill Brandom, Yamaha Music Corp.
A good overview of the features and functions found in the Disklavier piano. We will include general
tuning and regulating service, action removal, and a peek at the functions of this exciting new
instrument. You will get a first-hand look at these acoustic/digital hybrid pianos and you will
emerge with a taste of the exciting music potential in these remarkable piano systems of the
future.
(A) Disklavier Piano Service--Master Class - Bill Brandom, Yamaha Music Corp.
This class is aimed at technicians that have attended a Disklavier Piano Service Seminar sponsored by
Yamaha. Its purpose is to provide updated service and technical information on the various models of
Disklavier and Silent Series pianos.
(B) Approach to the PianoDisc System - Mark Burgett, PianoDisc
An overview of the PianoDisc system intended to familiarize technicians with PianoDisc systems when
they encounter them in the field. For example: how to remove the piano's action without destroying
the record strip or solenoids; how to deal with the system's wiring; what may be touched and what
should be avoided. No credit is given toward PianoDisc certification, but the information given in
class will be helpful to technicians who subsequently attend factory installation training classes.
Participants will receive product brochures, wiring diagrams and a PDS 128 Plus User's Guide.
(I) The QuietTime System - Mark Burgett & Michael Zarate, PianoDisc
This 1 1/2 hour class offers an overview of the GT360 QuietTime system, also known as Piano Digital,
the retrofit system that converts an acoustic piano into a digital instrument, a MIDI controller and
silent piano.
(E) From Bench Warmer to Player - Norman Cantrell, Oklahoma Chapter
An overview of what is required to confidently service working player pianos in the customer's home.
Questions about how to perform basic troubleshooting and common repairs will be addressed for the
1920's era and modern player pianos.
