PTGA Fundraisers
In June 2006, the PTGA will raffle a Redwork embroidery quilt. Learn more about this quilt here.
The Piano Technicians Guild Auxiliary avails itself of several fundraising projects to raise money for its work to enhance the endeavors of piano technicians and to support aspiring young pianists.
Our most significant philanthropic project is the PTGA Scholarship Program. Many members choose to send in donations to the scholarship fund along with their membership dues each year. Individual Auxiliary and Guild members, as well as PTG chapters, frequently make donations in memory or in honor of their members. Some corporate sponsors make in-kind donations by providing pianos, tunings, or hotel rooms for the scholarship winners when they perform in concert at our conventions. At the 2005 convention in Kansas City, more than $900 was raised when the Auxiliary sold raffle tickets for a beautiful leather jacket donated to the Auxiliary by Mason & Hamlin Piano Company.
Marvelous Calendars of Technicians!
A handy and fascinating eighteen-month calendar featuring several well-known piano technicians made its debut in June 2005. Two well-known technicians from the Central East Region – one male and one female – are pictured high in the air on different pages of the calendar. An RPT from the Northeast Region points with glee to a flaming piano. Another RPT gets advice from a cat as he tunes a piano.
This calendar is a must-have for every piano loving family. Proceeds from the sale of these calendars will go directly to the PTGA Scholarship Fund. Calendars can be mailed to you or your friends for $10 apiece (checks payable to PTG Auxiliary). Send your orders to PTGA President, Shirley Erbsmehl, 335 Chestnut Street, Fredonia, NY 14063-1653.
