The Piano Technicians Guild is the largest nonprofit organization serving piano tuners, technicians, and craftsman throughout the world, organized to promote the highest possible service and technical standards among piano tuners and technicians. PTG sponsors meetings, seminars, workshops and conventions, and publishes a monthly technical magazine the Piano Technicians Journal which features a wealth of technical information ranging from useful hints to in-depth instruction on tuning, repairing and rebuilding.
As a member, you’ll receive timely information on piano manufacturing technology, as well as tuning and servicing techniques that will help you use your time more efficiently. You’ll be able to communicate with other professionals who share your interests, and you will be eligible for discounted member-only rates for PTG business aids, merchandise and programs. CODE OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
As a means to promote the highest quality of professional conduct of its members, the following constitutes the Code of Professional Conduct which is adhered to by all members of the Piano Technicians Guild through endorsement of the Membership Pledge. Every member of the Piano Technicians Guild shall refrain from:
- exercising professional conduct adverse to the Mission, Objectives and Principles of the Piano Technicians Guild.
- providing any material misrepresentation of education, training, experience or area of expertise.
- willful violation of the laws of the Piano Technicians Guild and of the chapter in which membership is held.
- willful violation of established standards of professional conduct as exemplified in the Piano Technicians Guild Code of Ethics.
- being found guilty by a court or jury of competent jurisdiction of a felony or other crime or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.
CODE OF ETHICS
- I will act honorably and in a professional manner.
- I will render the best possible service under the circumstances, always keeping the best interests of my client in mind.
- I will uphold the principles of honesty and integrity for which the Piano Technicians Guild stands.
- I will use the name and trademarks of the Piano Technicians Guild properly and will encourage others to do the same.
- I will strive to upgrade my professional skills and I will encourage and help others to do the same.
- I will promote, in any way that I can, good will toward my profession and toward the music industry.
- I will engage only in business practices that are in accord with the antitrust guidelines as set forth by the Piano Technicians Guild.
