International Association of Piano Builders and Technicians

TECHNICIANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD COME TOGETHER

The 14th Biennial Meeting of the International Association of Piano Builders and Technicians (IAPBT) will be held in conjunction with the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention and Institute in June, 2005 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

The IAPBT was formed in 1979. The purpose and objectives of the organization are to maintain a worldwide fellowship of piano technicians and piano builders and to provide a means for and encourage freedom of exchange of technical information and any other subjects of related interest.

Technicians from around the world are invited to attend the meetings, classes and events offered to IAPBT participants as well as the entire PTG Institute, which promises to be one of the best yet. You’ll see everything from historical instruments to the latest in electronic gadgets and programs. You’ll learn new ideas from action work to voicing and everything in between. Our exhibit hall will also show you the latest and greatest in instruments, tools and supplies.

In addition to the abundance of technical information available, numerous social functions are scheduled. You will have many opportunities to meet fellow professionals from around the globe, exchange ideas, and learn about common interests.

The IAPBT schedule will begin with a welcome reception on Monday, June 13. The organizational meetings will be held on Tuesday, June 14 with classes and a banquet on Wednesday, June 15. The PTG Annual Convention and Technical Institute activities will be available from Thursday, June 16 through Sunday, June 19. Please contact the PTG Home Office (4444 Forest, Kansas City, KS 66106 USA, or e-mail mary@ptg.org) for further details on the IAPBT Convention and registration information.

We look forward to meeting you this summer!
