PTG Files Area

This area is a place to upload pictures and other documents instead of sending them as attachments on the Pianotech list.  This area is set to accept gif, jpg, doc, xls, ppt, pdf, and txt files.  Mac users be sure to add these extensions to the file names. There is a size limit of 2MB per file.

Files will not appear immediately after you upload them because they will be reviewed by a moderator first.  Since this area is open to the world this step is needed to keep appropriate content in the area.  The listing for the file will show up in the database listing but will generate an error if you click View.  When a file is uploaded it sends an email to the moderator so it should be approved or deleted within a day or two.

The files are renamed using the current date and time.  Sorry to create such an unfriendly name but this insures unique file names.  The URL for your file is listed under the description so you can tell others where to find it.   If you want save the file to your computer you can view it and then select edit/save from the application that opens. Or you can right click the View link and select Save Target as which give you a chance to save it.

Add a file or see the whole list of files in order of creation.  Newest are at the top.

Search the database of files.  You can enter just a few letters and it searches for words beginning with those letters.  The description field searches anywhere in that field.
