Yes a bottom cover will be essential.

Howdy, Apparently the heat is always on in the church--
felt warm to me the times I've been in there.

Wide swings in temp and humidity are a constant issue here.  I have
installed a D.C.s with covers.  Back covers on verticals are fabricated on a
removable frame with D.C.'s black material; and Jansen's make the full drop
cover for me.  It's their Macintosh cover with custom sides that reach the
floor. This doubles the price of the cover.  Tunings: some from once a month
to 3-4 months; from 2-3 months to 6 months; some are now a year.
