Sticking damper in Young Chang

Another solution might be to bend the sostenuto rod brackets to  
adjust sticking dampers at the ends of  each section. Charlie's rule  
of thumb, (having been a mechanic for 25 years) :

"If it can be reached and can be bent, it probably has been."  In the  
Young Chang, that bracket is very weak.
