Hi Terry..

Yes that Dream bit seemed a bit of an odd thing to me as well. It was
the introduction to his presentation. Have you ever played a Stuart
yourself or listened to one up close and personal ? I have heard
several conflicting comments about this distortion thing. I'd like to
reserve judgment till I hear for myself. I have several recordings where
they are really driven hard and I dont find anything I would call
distortion. Tho the sound is reminiscent of forte instruments of old
and when driven hard do take on a much different quality then a modern
instrument driven hard.

As for the Steinway bit. You have to remember this fellow is used to
Hamburg Steinways.

In anycase his own instrument was quite satisfying. Tho personally... I
still dont find an instrument that in the end manages as much all around
versatile good sound as Steinway and Sons. Preference thing I guess.
I love em myself. Hamburgs mind you.

Cheers
RicB

    My Dream Piano.....
The Power and Build Quality of a Stuart
The Upper Register Sound of a Fazioli
The Tenor and Bass Sound of a Bösendorfer
The Artist / Keyboard Interface of a Steinway

Have you ever listened to a Stuart? Maybe some would want to call
    what they
have "power", but the pianos distort badly at any medium-lound volume.
Keyboard of a Steinway? Maybe some, but taken as a whole, I'd hate
    to be
producing pianos with that kind of inconsistency.

    Hmmmm....
